Creating Supportive Spaces in Your Home During Quarantine

Many of us are not essential workers. Most of us are at home, quarantined. Now more than ever, we need our home to be an oasis, a place of restoration, joy and peace AND we need it to help us do all the things. We are striving to complete our work, maybe we have children to care for and pets and we need to create sanity in all of it. If our home is not set up in service of those goals it can leave us feeling trapped and unsupported.

The question is, while in quarantine how do you set up your home for you and your family and friends daily success? Let's look at this in simple form.

#1 Take a look at one room in your house, the most used room, outside of the kitchen. Which room is that for you and those you are quarantined with?

#2 Who is currently using the room?

#3 Who would like to be using the room?

#4 What does each person use the room for or want to be using the room for?

#5 What currently about the room is not supporting the use or desired use of the space?

#6 Can something be done to relocate, remove or re-purpose what is not working?

Some helpful hints:

Think of the room as a game of 3D Tetras. There isn't ONE right answer but there is a wrong answer.

You won't know until you try. This might take some time to play with things, adjust them or relocate until you find the right layout that truly works for you and your family and friends.

Lastly, Rome was not built in a day. You don't have to figure it all out in one day and you do not have to get it right on the first, second or third try. It may take some time, but right now since you can't go out it is worth a try.

Finally, if you need some help, give me a call! I am happy to help you any way that I am able.

Stay Safe, Create Sanity and Design...like no one is watching, because no one is!
